Alsalibi AdBlock 1.2.0 — source and reproducible package
Customization date: 2026-10-09.

This is an independent customization of uBlock Origin Lite by Raymond Hill
and contributors, licensed GPL-3.0-or-later. It is not an official uBlock release.
Original copyright/license notices and third-party library licenses are retained.

See extension/README.md for upstream build instructions, and individual
ruleset homeURL values for filter-list origins. Bundled filters are upstream
snapshots, not automatically downloaded by this customization.

The complete readable extension source is in ../extension. The original
unmodified release archive is included here. The overlay contains every
changed or added file, including notices, UI source, settings, and icons.
Run rebuild.py with a new output directory to reproduce the installable folder.

Changes: Arabic UI and help, Alsalibi name/icons, Complete default mode,
Arabic/German/Turkish + URL cleanup + selected annoyance lists enabled,
site controls, exception management and persistent global pause/resume.
The upstream filtering algorithms and list contents are unchanged; ruleset metadata only
changes the enabled defaults. Original advanced dashboard remains available.

Tests:
cd source/tests
npm install
npm test
These local tests use the real mode-manager with mocked browser APIs.
They cannot establish actual browser enforcement or real-site effectiveness.

Optional real-browser test (NOT completed in the build environment):
npx playwright install chromium
npm run test:browser
or set SHIELD_TEST_CHROME to a Chrome-for-Testing executable.
It uses an isolated profile and local HTTP fixtures. It does not establish
YouTube or other live-site effectiveness. Start with a fresh test-profile.

No analytics, telemetry endpoint, account system or external update service
was added. Store auto-updates do not apply to this unpacked local extension.

1.2.0 additions inspired by AdGuard browser-extension feature documentation:
Fast preset (same network lists, Optimal cosmetic mode), on-demand navigation
timing, optional privacy controls, bounded in-memory tab diagnostics, context
menu actions, searchable filter lists, manual allowlist and settings backup.
Background integration imports the diagnostic module and handles context menus.
No listeners for request logging are active by default. Privacy settings are
global browser preferences and are independent of ad-filtering pause/exceptions.

No AdGuard branding or proprietary implementation is included.

1.2.0: Renamed to Alsalibi AdBlock; generated shield/prohibition artwork; website links (https://alsalibi-adblock.ahmadalsalibi.chatgpt.site); consistent Fast label. No filtering algorithm changes. Diagnostic note documents an observed YouTube sandbox console error; no sandbox/security policy was relaxed.

1.2.0: English-default Alsalibi UI with German, Turkish, Arabic and French. Persisted UI locale, dynamic status/error translation, RTL, localized context menus and multilingual help/privacy. Advanced engine tools follow Chrome language. Original js/i18n.js is unchanged. User preferences and backup format IDs remain compatible.
